It's getting cold here, cold enough to freeze our water at night, and we have only had a small electric heater until now. Last week George and Leslie gave us the perfect little wood stove to heat our cabin. While in Fairbanks we stopped by DNR to get a firewood cutting permit and found an even better deal. A guy that worked there had a bunch of trees on his property that he cut down last summer and needed to get rid of them. How perfect...free wood and doing someone a favor!
We ended up with mostly aspen, but a good amount of birch and spruce too.
