Salmon Fishing

The first trip of the summer! A couple of weeks ago Andrew and George went down to Chitina to salmon fish on the Copper River. It's amazing the salmon swim hundreds of miles up this (and other) silty river. It is so thick with silt it can and will drown a person very quickly. If someone falls in this river more than likely they are not coming out.

They brought home 21 fish this trip, twenty reds and one king. The first eleven fish were caught in the first two hours and the next ten were caught in the next ten hours.

The head of the king...a twenty-five pound fish (which is not a huge king).
