Between Christmas and New Year's we had one day off and felt the need for some cold weather. We hiked up to Wildrose Peak which is just over 9,000 ft. in the Panamint Mountains. We were surprised to see several people in the parking area and a couple of other people on the trail, but no one had planned to be on the summit for the sunset then hike down in the dark like we did. It was a great hike, 8.5 miles roundtrip, three hours up and just over an hour and a half on the way down.
